Pat Donahue performing at APHC

Pat Donohue was born April 28, 1953 in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Pat Donohue is a member of the A Prairie Home Companion cast. He is a Grammy-winning songwriter and a National Finger-Picking Guitar Champion. Pat Donohue has performed with Garrison Keillor and A Prairie Home Companion as a member of the house band and as a featured artist for many years.

Pat Donohue studied at Regis College for two years before transferring to Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he began his musical career. Pat Donohue was a member of the Marquette Musical Tradition as well as a regular performer on the Marquette Bar Scene. After college he moved to Denver where he established himself as a musician. In the early 1990's he Pat Donohue was asked to join Garrison Keillor's A Prairie Home Companion. Pat Donohue was very instrumental in the soundtrack of A Prairie Home Companion film and appears on screen in the band for most of the movie.
