Tim Russel broadcasting Prairie Home Companion

Tim Russell was born in 1947 and is one of the members of the ensemble A Prairie Home Companion cast. As a radio personality on the Prairie Home Companion Show, Tim Russell provides the voice for Dusty from the "Lives of Cowboys" skit, Fred Farrell and several "guest celebrities" including Julia Child and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Tim Russell received an undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and attended Law School at the University of Minnesota . He also studied broadcasting at the Brown Institute of Broadcasting in Minneapolis. He started his career in broadcasting in Dubuque, Iowa in 1973 at WCCO-FM. For nearly twenty years he worked as a radio personality hosting and staring on shows developing character voices and personas. In 1994 he joined A Prairie Home Companion. In 1997 along with playing several roles on APHC he returned to work at WCCO where he was named "Outstanding Broadcasting Personality". In 2006 he played "Al, the Stage Manager" in A Prairie Home Companion the film.
